Our home under 12’s boys tournament went ahead in the rain and snow at Southbury this morning. WHE fielded an A and a B team.

The weather did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of the B team who were on first at 9.30am. Up front Seb and Luca worked fantastically together, probing the opposition for weaknesses, Alex dominated in midfield, supported by Harry P. At the back Tom P. and Kirsty held firm and our goalie Isabel kept an almost clean sheet.

The results were very encouraging, 0 – 0 against Letchworth, 1 – 1 against Blueharts, 0 – 0 against Broxbourne B’s, finally they went down 2-0 to Broxbourne C’s. The goal against Blueharts was an amazing individual effort by Seb, taking the ball from defence up the pitch, down the wing then crossing the ball from the far right of the D straight into the corner of the goal. It was a pleasure to manage such a committed energetic team.

The B team, managed by Nick Smith went on next. Big thanks go to all those who planned and helped run the tournament. Lisa Jobson for her great organisation and umpiring along with Nick Smith. Thanks also to Andy Hall , Callum Hall and the parents who ran the refreshment stall and all the club members who came along to support. Final mention goes to the guest appearance from former youth coaches Graham Sparrey and Rosemary Basil Sparrey Wilkins it was great to see you both, look at the results of all the hard work you put in!
