“An away day to celebrate for the men’s 2’s at Old Merchant Taylor’s 4’s in the untelevised 3pm pushback on a shockingly bouncy pitch.
Ellis only went and did it again much to Cal’s dismay scoring his third in 3, aiming for the top scorer position this year! 1-0 to Winchmore. Halftime comes and a fired up Winchmore had their halftime Haribo [unsponsored] for the second half.
Some pressure from OMT held out from a defence unit of John squared, James and Cal, keeping OMT at bay and John S/ Cal with goal line saves from shorts to keep the score at 1-0.
Dying minutes and a pass rifled into the box by Dom and edged by Jonny and under the goalkeeper, after some confusion, umpires confirmed it was a goal for a 2-0 win and a clean sheet for Linus who didn’t touch the ball!
3 wins in 3 for Winchmore Men’s 2’s and some cracking pizza for teas, Nosh with Josh would have been proud!”

Luke was also given some Donkey of the Day nominations for not stealing the goal from Ellis. Outrageous. Luke has requested to be placed on the transfer list.
Women’s First Team Match Report
WHE Women 2-0 Hendon & Mill Hill 1’s – Home
Goal Scorers: A. de Graaf, B. McNamara
Player of the Match: B. McNamara & K. Smith
“We’re doing good things, we just need to do the good things better.
With most of the team once again turning up late we were 100% prepared for the match. We started strong with Amber theatrically throwing the oppositions stick behind her, running up the length of the entire pitch and whacking past the goalie bottom corner.
Both Shell and Sarah took out the opposition, rolling around on the ground. At half time it was 1-0 to us. Shell’s words of wisdom “we’re doing good things, we just need to do the good things better”.
In the second half, Amber “talking back to the umpire” got a foul upgraded to a short corner. The opposition cracked under the pressure and started attacking their own teammates. After a few failed attempts at goal, B managed to get the ball past the keeper in the bottom corner.“

WHE Women 2-1 Hendon & Mill Hill 2’s – Away
Goal scorers: K. Allan

“Yes you read that right, another win for the W2s. That’s back to back wins for us for the first time in well over a season.
Such a good game, we’re gonna talk about it through the MoM nominations:
Kareen – Second short corner for Kareen. A super strike from Briers at a short corner that Kareen deflected top corner! The oppo’s faces were a picture!
Lorna – Lorna had a blinder as left back, pushing up past the half way and even got close the the attacking 25. She oozed composure and played some beautiful balls round the back.
Gem – Her endless crash balls into the D gave us so many chances at goal. Now we have to get on the end of them! A PC on the final whistle and Gemma’s drag flick stunned and confused the oppo and umpires alike. No goal unfortunately, but a spectacle to behold.
I can’t actually remember what Gem did you deserve Winfield the Moose today but I’m sure it was thoroughly deserved.”
