What a fantastic day, as “The Masters” took on “The Apprentices” in our annual charity match at Southbury Leisure Centre. The sun shone down as 37 members past and present turned out for a mixed hockey match in aid of North London Hospice, with players ranging from the youngest aged 15, to the eldest, a still very sprightly 55!
The Masters (ages 32+) started strongly and took the lead with a neat reverse stick finish from the club’s top goalscorer Colin Foad (who else?!) making it 1-0 at half-time. The Apprentices (ages <32) battled back in the second half with several near misses, but another goal from Colin and a neat finish from Sarah Wisson were enough to ensure the oldies came out on top, winning 3-0.
So far the match has raised £974 + gift aid, which is incredible! And you can still donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/whecharity2022
Thank you all. X
