Women’s First Team 1-3 East London 4’s – Home
Goal scorers: G. Luckman
Player of the Match: TBC
“Captain Amy started the day off with organisation and good vibes. A perfectly written out subs plan and a packet of vegan Percy pigs set the women’s 1s off to a good start.
East London proved a tough side, unfortunately putting the team down 2-0 at half time. Despite this the team pushed on. In goal, Nic produced a string of brilliant saves and the defence were strong and unwavering.
Issues did start to arise when 2/3 Deanes on pitch were injured leading to Amy’s perfectly planned subs list going out the door. Despite this, the team worked hard in the second half, conceding only one more goal.
The team never gave up hope as with just 16 seconds remaining, the moment of magic came. From a short corner, Gem^2 combined in a beautiful moment to slot home a well earned goal.
Final score of 3-1 but an excellent learning experience to take into the next games. Oh and England won the Rugby World Cup so the day ended very well!
